Vision therapy is a personalized program of in-office and at-home activities that are prescribed by a Doctor of Optometry to help improve the function of the visual system. They are not eye exercises geared at making the muscles of the eyes “stronger” but instead meant to establish and strengthen the connections between the eye and the brain (neurological plasticity) so that more efficient visual skills become embedded (like second-nature).
